Defrag 2008

The new Defrag 2008 site is up.  I'm planning on attending Defrag 2008 along with Heather.  Defrag is the best conference I've ever attended.  It'll be like a five year old waiting for Christmas...

Prelude to a Defrag Debrief

I went to the Defrag Conference and had a great time.  I wish Heather could’ve been there too.  We decided that next year she will go even if we have to take the boys with us and split our time at the conference.

I’d like to blog all of my thoughts about the conference, but it’ll have to wait until I get some of my higher priority stuff done.  I was hoping to blog during the conference, but my computer got sick so I was relegated to tweeting via my Blackjack.

Anyway, it was a great conference with a bunch of super smart people (both speaking and attending).  And, I got a t-shirt from Me.dium that says, “there’s pr0n on my widget.”  What could be better?

Tweeting My Way Through Defrag

I'll be tweeting my way through Defrag so I can keep my wife up-to-date while at the conference.  Heather isn't able to go to Defrag because we couldn't arrange for our sons to have a sitter for four days (two days for the conference and two for travel).  I'm going to miss her while I'm gone <sniff>.

OpenSocial: Entreprenerial Opportunities

If you're a techie, you'd probably have to be a techie without a pulse if you haven't already heard about OpenSocial, Google's API for social networks.  If the Facebook API is any indicator, then OpenSocial will provide a lot of opportunities for entrepreneurs to create new and interesting applications.

I think it's a hugely exciting time to be an entrepreneur; there's certainly no lack of opportunity.  With all of the new and cool stuff going on, I think the big issue for entrepreneurs is finding something to focus on and remaining focused.

Nova Spivack at Defrag

I just learned that Nova Spivak of Radar Networks will be at the Defrag conference.  Most Excellent!
