There was a question submitted to Ask the VC asking about the value of a business plan. In the comment section of the post, Bijan Sabet mentioned that he’s received a business plan in “Wordpress format.” I thought that was a really great idea, especially for a software startup.
Business plans are like financial statements, they’re just a “snapshot in time.” The business plan changes constantly because startups change constantly; so the virtual business plan is a great way to go. Just use existing blogging tools, add security (i.e. require login) and build a business plan online. The other cool thing about the blogged business plan is that you can track who reads the plan and what they read; the stats could provide some clues about relevant content.
